WPCC players excel at Western Province Closed and Open Squash Tournaments

WPCC Squash was proud to once again host the WP Closed and Open tournaments at the Club in May 2024. The tournaments bring together players across strengths, and, importantly, are also used for selection of Provincial Players. 

This year, the tournaments broke previous records in terms of number of entries, surpassing the 130 player mark in each tournament. In total, more than 500 matches were played across the two tournaments – a coup for Western Province Squash, and a coup for WPCC as the hosting club.

WPCC Squash also acknowledges Penny Cobbledick, WPCC member and administrator of WP Squash. Penny ran these tournaments to the highest standard – thank you Penny.

Next up, the club will host the Regional Championships from 7–9 June. The winners of the tournament will go on to compete at the National Championships at the V&A Waterfront in August.
