Dear Women’s Cricket Enthusiasts,
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the inaugural Women’s Indoor Cricket Winter League at Western Province Cricket Club (WPCC) Sports Centre! This exciting event promises to be a celebration of cricket and sheer fun.
Event Details:
- Venue: WPCC Sports Centre – Indoor Nets
- Duration: 6-week competition starting May 5th to June 9th
- Match Days: Fridays 18:30 and Sundays 11:00 to 16:00
- Number of Matches: Minimum of 5 games, including playoffs and a final
- Cost: R2400 per team (R50 per player per game, R30 for WPCC Members)
Format Explanation: Get ready for an exciting cricket experience with our unique format. Each team’s innings consists of 16 overs, with pairs batting for 4 overs each. Each over comprises 5 balls. If a team loses a wicket, 3 runs will be deducted from their total score. Every player will get to bowl 2 overs. It’s all about fast-paced action and strategy. Join us for a thrilling season of indoor cricket at WPCC!
Divisions:
- Junior League: Ages 9-12 years old
- Senior League: Ages 13 years and above
All Skill Levels Welcome: Indoor cricket offers a unique experience, allowing players of all skill levels to practice running between wickets, sharpen their reflexes, and enhance their cricketing skills. Whether you’re a seasoned cricketer or just starting out, our league provides the perfect opportunity to refine your technique, improve your game, and enjoy some off-season training in a supportive and social environment. It’s a fantastic way to stay active during the winter months while having a blast with friends and fellow cricket enthusiasts.
Prizes and Recognition: In addition to the thrill of the game, participants will have the chance to compete for coveted prizes. Awards will be presented to the winning team, as well as to the Best Batter, Bowler, and Player of the Tournament.
