AMERICAN VISIT
A group of 25 Americans will be visiting our club on Sunday 4
Dec. Come down to the club on Sunday morning for a fun day of bowls
followed by a braai. Please bring 4 bowls as the visitors do not have
bowls of their own. Salads and rolls will be provided by the club and
there will be braai packs on sale.

prize of R 5 000 and 5 other prizes of R
1 000 each. These prizes are based on a minimum of 1 000
entries, otherwise the prizes will be in proportion to the number of entries
. The monthly price is R 50 per entry which can be paid in several ways,
i.e. either a monthly debit order, or a one-off payment for the year and other
options. Please note that this lottery is not exclusively for bowlers;

Congratulations to Daniel Loubser, Joel Roebert, Kevin Nash and Dave Ketterer for reaching the quarter-final of the WP Fours. They will be playing at Helderberg on Saturday 19 Nov.

It is the Bowls Section’s turn to host the `Happy Hour’ at the main club on Friday 28 January. Your kind contributions to the prize table would be greatly appreciated.
BRING AND BRAAI
There will be a `bring and braai’ at the club after Flag and Muter on Saturday 29 January. All members and partners are welcome. Meat packs will be on sale.

The fourth round of Flag and Muter takes place on Saturday, 29 January. Please check the notice boards to see where you are playing.

WP BOWLS COMPETITIONS

Good bowling to all our teams taking part in the WP Trips, the WP 5s and the WP Midweek competitions which start at the end of this month.
CLUB COMPETITIONS
The entries for the men’s club competition have officially closed. If you have not entered as yet, please get your entries in immediately. Please include the entry fee with the entry form.
Entries for the ladies’ club competitions close at the end of November.
DVD CONCERT AND LIGHT MEAL
On Wednesday 27 October we will be showing the DVD concert of Robbie Williams emulating the rat pack at the Royal Albert Hall. There will be a light meal of Spaghetti
Bolognaise and dessert at R 35 per head.
If you wish to partake of the meal, please put your name on the appropriate list on the notice board.

SA MIXED PAIRS

QUIZ EVENING
We will be holding the first of our quiz evenings on Wednesday 4 August starting at 18:45. Teams are limited to a maximum of 6 members. All are welcome. Please enter your teams on the list on the notice board or telephone Carol Swart on 083 324 4825.
WPCC CLASSIC TRIPS
The WPCC Classic Trips will be held from 24-26 September. There are still vacancies, so please enter your teams as soon as possible and/or notify bowlers from other clubs of the competition.
ROOIBERG FOURS
The Rooiberg Fours competition runs from Wednesday 29 September every Wednesday until 20 October. Please enter your teams without delay as vacancies are limited.
WPCC BOWLS BUSINESS LEAGUE
The Bowls section are pleased to announce this fun event starting on 4
th
November and running
every Thursday
until the 25
th
November. Teams will consist of 3 players playing 2-Bowl trips and each team will have a manager; who will be a regular bowler from our club - this will enable the players to gain more insight into the game and obviously have some tuition on the way if they so wish. We will be encouraging the team members to bring their families along where we will provide boerewors rolls and a cash bar will provide drinks. Club members will be contacting big [and small] firms to enter teams and we will encourage teams to dress in bright colours or the logo or dress representing their firm or Company.

The Bowls committee is excited about hosting this event and hope to get as many teams as possible. We will be running a competition over the 4 weeks and this always adds to the fun of such an occasion. Many of you will be hearing from us in the near future so watch this space!
